County Captains blog..
I’ve posted match reports recently but not really just thrown out some thoughts..
So here goes.
First up, big congratulations to Jon Exon-Taylor (Nevill) for making it through regional qualifying for The Open!
Jon has been in fine form this year and I’m chuffed to bits for him and also very proud to have another 1st team player doing so well this year.
Matt Vearncombe for shooting the course record at kings Hill last week in the Henry Cooper! That’s brilliant Matt.
Matt is a Challenge League player making his way up the ranks and setting his goals.
I could go on about all sort of results across the county but I won’t!
Suffice to say that the county players are really going well this year in national and regional competitions.
I’ll be glad when June is out of the way. It’s been and continues to be mental. So much golf crammed in.
What’s next?
Right now I’m at Woodhall Spa representing the county to mark England Golf’s 100 year anniversary.
It’s the first time I’ve played the famed
Hotchkin Course and it hasn’t disappointed!
Stay out of the bunkers.
Stay out of the heather.
Then you’ll be ok.
Credible rounds of 5 over and 3 over so far…
Let’s improve this today!
The Sussex Amateur on the 5/6/7 July will be a good opportunity for me to view new talent. Really looking forward to that.
Then it’s the big one. The 6 man.
11 counties sending their finest 6 golfers to The Dyke to battle 36 holes medal in the same day.
We have a really good shout this year. I haven’t made my final selection yet for that team so competition is high for a spot.
Shout out to any supporters who’d like to come and watch, we’d love to see you! Feel free to ball spot!
That’s enough for now..
