On Tuesday 27th August, the Sussex Under 13's Championship took place at Slinfold GC, where 20 young golfers competed in lovely warm and sunny conditions.
It was a close battle in the scratch competition, with Barney King from Crowborough Beacon GC emerging as the victor with a solid round of 77, which gave him 31 gross stableford points. Just two strokes behind was Benjamin Champness from Royal Ashdown Forest GC, who finished with a commendable 79 (29 Gross stableford points). The third spot was clinched by Oscar Tollit of Piltdown GC.
The Handicap Competition saw some fantastic performances, with Harry Deacon from Rustington GC taking home the prize with an excellent score of 45 points. The second place in this category was secured by Michael Egan from Cooden Beach GC, with 40 points, while Edward Warlow from Dale Hill GC took third with a 39 points.
The players and their families gathered on the patio for the prize ceremony, where the trophies and vouchers were presented. A special thank you goes out to Slinfold GC for their exceptional hospitality, which made the day a great success. Congratulations to all who took part!
