SUSSEX BOYS UNDER 14s CHAMPIONSHIP
On Friday, the 2nd of August, the U14s played their Championship at Eastbourne Downs alongside the Sussex Girls Championships. It was a beautiful day at Eastbourne, but as the afternoon sea breeze kicked in, the players found themselves playing in tough weather conditions. It was tight at the top for the Renwick Trophy (Gross), with Oscar Tollit (Piltdown) coming in with the winning score of 79. Closely followed by Alan Hunt (Chartham Park) and Jack Wills (Piltdown) with scores of 80, Alan took second place on count back. The main event, the Steve Stone Trophy, was won by George McCallum (Golf at Goodwood) with a well deserved 40 points. We were honoured to have the trophy presented by Steve Stone himself. Coming in just behind George was Harry Knight (Chartham Park) with a solid 37 points. In 3rd place, with 36 points on count back, was Tristan Campbell-Lloyd (Piltdown). We would like to say Thank you to Eastbourne Downs Golf Club for doing an amazing job at hosting both events. Congratulations to all the winners and well done to the players who participated.
